Configure your Outlook Express with your POP / IMAP account

This tutorial is designed to help users learn how to configure their Outlook Express to be used to get POP / IMAP email from the DNS Made Easy mail servers.

Step 1
You will first need a the following information about each account that you want to configure.

Username
This is in the format <username>@<domain_name>. The postmaster for each domain will create the usernames in the Mail Configuration tools. To find out how to get to the mail configuration tool click on "Mail Services" from the Main Menu. Then click on "POP / IMAP / Webmail", then click on the domain name that you want to configure. At the bottom of the screen you will see the link to configure your users for your domain. This is the same username that you would use to log into your Webmail.
Password
This is the password that the postmaster user (the administrator user) will set for each user at creation time.
The mail server
This is the mail server assigned to your domain name. To find out how which mail server you are supposed to be using click on "Mail Services" from the Main Menu. Then click on "POP / IMAP / Webmail", then click on the domain name that you want to configure. At the bottom of the screen you will see the information on which mail server will handle your email.

Step 2
Start your Outlook Express program.

Step 3
Click on "Tools" from the Menu Bar and then select "Accounts...". You will then select the option to add a new mail account.

Step 4
Enter your Name.


Step 5
Enter the email address you are configuring your Outlook Express for. This would be the username that you have from Step 1.

Step 6
Choose your protocol that you want to use, POP or IMAP. And then enter your server information. The POP / IMAP server will be the server name that you gathered in Step 1. The SMTP server will usually be the SMTP server assigned by your ISP. If you purchased SMTP service through DNS Made Easy then you would use the SMTP server assigned to you instead.

Step 5
Enter your username and password that you gathered in Step 1. The Account Name that you enter will be the username.

Step 5
Click Finish and you are all set!
