NOTE: This option is only intended for experienced users of DNS. This option requires that you already have a name server and you are looking for DNS redundancy. Your staff must understand how to enable zone transfers to secondary systems and also understand how to fully administer their DNS.

Even if you already have your own name server it is always better to have additional servers for robustness. DNS Made Easy has a solution to offer you a highly flexible secondary (slave) name server.

What does it take to have DNS Made Easy be your Secondary DNS?

Tell the Registrar with which you registered (or which you will register) that your domain will be using DNS Made Easy's secondary nameserver(s). You will have to provide some (or all) of the following information:

• Nameservers:
  • ns5.dnsmadeeasy.com - 63.219.151.12
  • ns6.dnsmadeeasy.com - 64.246.42.203
  • ns7.dnsmadeeasy.com - 205.234.170.139

   

• If you limit your nameservers to only allow transfers to certain IPs then the nameservers that you will want to allow transfers from are:
  • 63.219.151.12
  • 64.246.42.203
  • 205.234.170.139

Quotas and Limitations:

• All domains that have over 100 resource records must use IXFR for zone updates.
• Quotas are subject to the quotas set in your DNS Made Easy Membership level.
