Core network built upon equipment by Juniper Networks and Cisco.
Intelligently-routed bandwidth combines connectivity from over 20 diverse providers including Verio, Level(3), AOL / Time Warner, BTN, and many more. Failure of any single provider or multiple providers at once has no effect on the uptime of our network. Border Gateway Protocol 4 (BGP4) is incorporated to insure continuous uptime.
Intelligent routing equipment reduces latency by allowing incoming and outgoing packets to take the shortest, most efficient path -- this means that our network is optimized for low-latency applications such as DNS.
Fully redundant, no single point of failure.
DNS Made Easy gives users an extremely flexible web interface that allows them complete control of their domain and records.
User defined TTL settings.
Bulk domain and record configuration.
Online help to guide the users with their DNS configuration.
DNS wizards to make the addition of domains an extremely easy process.
How does a Dynamic IP change how DNS needs to work?
Having an IP to a computer is similar to having a telephone number to a piece of property. Imagine that your telephone changed every couple of days though. The telephone book doesn't change quick enough. No one would be able to contact you for your business to be a success. This is the issue that users have with Dynamic IPs
With normal DNS systems you are not able to host your site if your IP (your telephone number) changes. A normal DNS (Domain Name Service; your telephone book) does not update as soon as your IP changes. When your IP changes it usually creates broken DNS records, or worst yet, the DNS is now pointing to someone else's system (another business).
DNS from DNS Made Easy solves this problem. DNS Made Easy has created a DNS architecture to change your DNS record (similar to your phone listing) as soon as your IP changes. You will never have downtime whenever your IP changes again. Similar to changing everyone's telephone book as soon as your telephone number has changed.
Example:
Your FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) computer to host your web pages is called www.example.com. (Of course instead of example.com it would be your own domain.) That FQDN has a DNS that is actually pointing to the name 192.168.9.1. Similar to how John Smith may have the telephone number 555-555-1892. Now as soon as your computer changes IP , let's say it changed to 10.7.12.123, the DNS entry is now also changed. But it changes for the whole world. Let's follow this step by step:
You make your account keep track of your domain. (Example www.example.com)
You point www.example.com to your IP which is now 192.168.9.1. DNS Made Easy provides you tools to do this easily.
The world is now going to your website by going to www.example.com.
Your IP has now changed since you have a dynamic IP solution from your ISP. Your IP has changed to 10.7.12.123.
You notify DNS Made Easy and your record is changed immediately.
Everyone can now connect to your www.example.com and they are now connecting to 10.7.12.123.
Don't be fooled by similar products from other systems. DNS Made Easy's updates are done real time on enterprise systems.
How is DNS Made Easy different from other services?
Many other services only update their records at set times. Many run their updates at night or once a day.
Often forcing you to have a day of downtime.
DNS Made Easy makes the DNS updates immediately.
Other services require you to have a large TTL. A TTL (time to live) is the length of time that your record will stay in cache (memory) on other systems. Since other providers force you to have TTLs of 12 hours to 1 day you will have a long period of downtime.
