As soon as any of your services fail to respond your traffic will automatically be moved to a different system by using DNS Made Easy's ultra-fast DNS updates. This limits the amount of downtime your users will see and keeps your business running fast.

Since the DNS Made Easy Failover solution is 100% integrated with our Managed Enterprise DNS solution you don't have to worry about installing any special software or scripts on any of your systems. We take care of all of the work for you.

How do I setup DNS Failover?
Failover (and System Monitoring) can be set for your A records. All you need to do is click on the approriate row for your record under the "FO / SM" (Failover / System Monitoring) column.

How many IPs am I allowed to failover to?
You are allowed to enter up to five (5) IPs for your A records to failover to. This means that if your first IP is down then the system will check if the second IP is functional. If the second IP is not functional then the third IP will be checked, etc.

What happens if my original IP (system) comes back online?
This is up to you. DNS Made Easy will continue to monitor your systems and as soon as your original systems come back online DNS Made Easy will automatically move your traffic to the original system if you want it to. Otherwise you can decide to have your system stay in the failed status until you manually turn it back on.
