DNS Made Easy Announces Successful Internship Program

In May of 2009, DNS Made Easy launched their Summer Internship Program, designed to give students real-world IT experience.

June 18, 2009 -- As a part of their commitment to give back to the community, DNS Made Easy, the industry’s leading IP Anycast DNS provider, launched their Summer Internship Program in May 2009. The purpose of the DNS Made Easy Intership Program is to allow students pursuing careers in IT an opportunity to obtain valuable experience in the field.

Students are allowed to shadow senior employees in every part of the business, from sales to support to the server rooms. Through a combination of classroom-style teaching and hands-on experience, DNS Made Easy hopes to provide students with a better understanding of DNS and other internet technologies as well as exposing them to the many facets of working in a technology-based business.

Interns are not given direct access to any confidential information, customer data, or production equipment, however all of the interns have been able to gain invaluable experience in these tight economic times when many students are finding fulfilling and educational summer jobs more difficult to secure. Not only are these students able to earn money over the summer months but the experience of seeing the inner-workings of a successful Internet business is very beneficial to the interns’ growth.

“When it comes to technology, hands-on experience is vital to fully understanding the concepts being taught in the classroom,” explains Courtney Staton, Senior Support Technician. “We’re not only giving these students the tools they need to further their education, but providing real experience that will be valuable to them further down the road when they’re starting their careers.”

Many IT related businesses have reduced or eliminated their intern programs due to the current economic crisis that has affected the world. DNS Made Easy has used their exponential growth as a means to support and actually expand their internship program for this summer.
