Support Policy

DNS Made Easy employs a dedicated support staff to assist our clients with all of our products and services.

DNS Made Easy has an excellent reputation for providing exceptional support for all of our services / products. DNS Made Easy administrators work hard to ensure that our services are working as designed and promised. All clients are guaranteed that we will resolve any problem with any of our services until an expectable solution is found. This policy is how DNS Made Easy continues to be one of the largest Internet service wholesalers in the world.

While we recognize that computer problems are frustrating as well as hard to pin point at times, we must remain a profitable entity; therefore we are unable to allocate support resources to problems that do not relate to our systems as determined by DNS Made Easy support staff.

What does this mean?
If you purchase DNS services from us then we will support our service to the point that we will ensure that the DNS is working properly both from inside and more importantly outside our network.

Since we can only support our own services we will be unable to provide support for servers, hard drives, and mail clients, firewalls, outside networks, etc. in your home / office. DNS Made Easy also can not support and home / business electrical devices. Unfortunately we can only answer questions directly related to our services / products.

DNS Made Easy is also unable to provide extended support for other internet technologies. We cannot provide answers to general support questions such as “How do I configure my computer?”. Although we do provide DNS and mail services, we do not provide support on how to use these technologies. Information regarding how to use the different Internet technologies is not covered in our normal support.

Example 1:

Although we understand that it may seem everything on the Internet is related, we cannot support local network problems in your home / office. We strongly suggest that you contact your local system administrator or ISP.

If you cannot get online for example, then you should contact your ISP. We guarantee the service that you are purchasing from us. But if it is determined by support staff that there is a problem with your local network / computer then we are unable to provide support for that issue.

Example 2:
Issues involving configuration of an email client are not covered in normal support. It is economically impossible for DNS Made Easy to support detailed support for all mail clients available on the internet. Our POP / IMAP services are supported to a point that we ensure they are working if properly configured in a standard-compliant email client. Our pricing is designed around the idea that the client will configure the mail client. If you do not know how to configure your mail client then you should contact the software vendor (either Microsoft, Eudora, etc.) for support with that issue.

Example 3:
Issues involving the primary email server when DNS Made Easy servers as the backup server are not covered in normal support. You should contact the company that you purchased your email server from to trouble shoot those issues. We will support our backup email servers, but we will not be able to support your email server that is running in your own network.

Example 4:
You purchase DNS services from us and you are having problems with your web server. You should contact the software vendor which provides your web server to resolve this issue.

How do I get Support?

95% of all questions we receive are answered online either on our Support Site, our Knowledgebase, or in the support section of our website. If you are unable to find the answer to your question then you should open a Support Ticket.

Can I purchase additional phone support?

Yes you can. Additional phone support can be added to an active account on a per incident basis via the Purchase/Upgrade/Renew of the account. Although 99.9% of our client base have never required this solution in order to resolve an issue. You can contact our sales team at sales@dnsmadeeasy.com if you have any questions about Advanced Support options.

What type of questions can I ask support?
We will answer any support question directly related to our service. This means that the problem must originate from our service. For instance if you are using our DNS services and are having problems with your mail server (not related to our DNS) then we cannot provide you free support for your problem. We are not responsible for systems / networks that are not part of our network / services.

Multiple tickets requesting verification that records / domains are working are considered redundant. Due to the volume of requests we handle each day, it is impossible for us to verify each record for each domain for each client. This does not mean that we will not verify your domain is working properly if you believe there is an issue present. We do offer a monitoring service to ensure systems are responding correctly, you are encouraged to configure this service for your domain if you require the added security of automatic verification.

Can I speak to someone on the phone when I have questions? Is phone support included?

Although we would love to be able to offer clients free phone support, it is just not possible at our listed pricing. In order to keep our clients costs low, phone support is an optional service which can be added on to any DNS Made Easy account on a per incident basis. We do guarantee that our network and service is always fully functional, as promised. If you require additional dedicated support for a certain situation, you can purchase additional phone support in half hour increments.

What happens if DNS Made Easy finds my request to be outside of normal support?

If DNS Made Easy finds a clients support requests to be excessive, redundant, or outside of what we consider normal support; the client will be informed of all additional support options available to resolve the issue. DNS Made Easy has the right to add additional support fees (based on our hourly support rates) to the client account to cover the time involved outside of what we consider normal support. If these extra support fees are not paid immediately DNS Made Easy has the right to suspend services are paid.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

We’re so sure that you will be happy with our services, that we offer every member a 30-day free trial of our services.

Any account which contains an outstanding balance cannot be closed until that balance is paid in full. All invoices are due, paid in full, 30 days after the invoice issue date.

ALL SALES FOR SERVICES / MERCHANDISE ARE FINAL:

DNS Made Easy / Tiggee will not issue a refund of any kind. Once you have posted your transaction you have agreed to pay for the services / merchandise offered and accept the services / merchandise as is. The sale of the service(s) applies to the setup fee(s) associated with all such accounts. Upon certain condition, DNS Made Easy may offer a refund but there may be a $25 processing and early cancellation fee accessed to your account.

INDEMNITY AND DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY:

You agree that access to and use of DNS Made Easy is at your own risk and neither DNS Made Easy, nor its principals, nor its vendor domain name Registrars, if any, shall be liable for any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising from or related to either your use of DNS Made Easy or any action or omission of DNS Made Easy in providing the DNS Made Easy service including but not limited to, your access to DNS Made Easy’s vendor domain name Registrars, if any, through DNS Made Easy’s web site text, link(s), button(s) or banner(s). SMTP Service Abuse Policy

Due to potential client abuse of the SMTP service DNS Made Easy has issued an abuse policy that is both fair to clients
that are using the service legitimately, and yet punishes clients that are using the service legitimately, and yet punishes clients that may attempt to abuse the SMTP service for spam, UCE, or UBE. DNS Made Easy has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for spamming or sending any UCE / UBE of any type. SMTP accounts are immediately terminated when:

  • SMTP service is used to send email to a “purchased” (even if it is ten times opted in) list.
  • The “mail from” address is fake.
  • Over 2% of the recipient emails bounce for invalid recipients.
  • Over 2% of the recipients mark the emails as spam.

A single client’s actions with a shared resource SMTP service can cause our servers to be listed in any DNSBL / BL / RBL / or flagged as spam.

By default (unless you purchase a customized plan) each user has the quota of 500 sent emails per day and 100 MB of email transfer per day. Based on the number of abuse complaints that we receive from actions made by a client account, we reserve the right to reduce daily quota accordingly.

The SMTP Abuse policy:

If DNS Made Easy is financially fined for actions taken by your SMTP account, we will immediately close all SMTP accounts associated with your user profile. Our upstream providers only fine our company in the event of extreme cases of abuse that cannot be ignored. Due to the fact that spam, UCE, and UBE complaints require a large amount of research to track down, our providers fine us for this resolution time.

If DNS Made Easy receives “valid” complaints from ISPs or users we will act accordingly. When spam complaints are received against a domain, we will provide two warnings to the client regarding the situation, after the third complaint is received the associated account will be terminated.

Why is DNS Made Easy strict on SPAM?
DNS Made Easy serves outgoing email for thousands of customers worldwide. However there is a small percent of clients that abuse the SMTP service causing service degradation to the rest of our client base. DNS Made Easy must avoid both fines associated with complaints from our upstream providers as well as large ISPs potentially blocking our servers for a period of time.

It takes DNS Made Easy personnel a great deal of time to deal with the abuse complaints. This is an extra cost which is not priced into our SMTP service pricing. DNS Made Easy has thousands of SMTP users that have remained clients for years and never received a spam complaint.

What is a “valid” complaint?
We understand that some messages can be marked as spam in error and we do take into account how easy it is to mark a message as spam. In fact, we have had our own clients mark our “Renewal Notices” as well as Failover notifications as spam. We do understand that some user complaints are not valid and should not be counted. We will not count any of these “bogus” complaints as valid as both the content and title of the message are taken into account. ISPs however have a larger clout than the normal user. If we receive a complaint from a large ISP such as AOL, Comcast, Verizon, Sprint, etc. then we will count that as a complaint against your account. We need to do this because every single complaint that we receive from these ISPs is counted against us.

Is there anyway to increase my daily total once it is reduced for complaints?
No there is not.

If my account is terminated for spamming am I given a refund?

Absolutely not.
